The dirty water tank gets smelly fast. Learn how to properly empty, clean, and sanitize your Shark HydroVac's waste container to prevent mold and odor.

Preventing Odor Build-Up
| Habit | Impact |
|---|---|
| Empty after every use | Prevents bacterial growth |
| Air dry fully | Stops mold spores |
| Weekly deep clean | Removes buildup |
| Store with tank detached | Allows airflow |
TIP: If odor persists even after deep cleaning, the smell may have absorbed into the plastic. Try soaking overnight in a baking soda and water solution (2 tablespoons per cup of water).
